Today I am thankful for:
~the first day of spring (on the Shauna Calendar, which hasn’t really caught on yet outside of my head.)
~Pea saying her name these days. She has replaced the pesky ‘r’ in the middle with a ‘z,’ though.
~people who will listen. Particularly the one I’m married to.
~Pea knowing 11 colors now, including "onage."
~empathy.
~lunch plans with the delightful Jagadiah next week.
~Pea singing me a loving rendition of "Happy Birthday," merely two weeks after the fact. She’s been singing a lot lately, and I love it.
~the Zappos 110% price match policy, which let me pay sixty dollars less than the Zappos sale price!
~big fluffy poofros after Alex and Zoe have been brushed.
~long meaningful talks.
~my mom’s upcoming visit this weekend. And I know I’ve said that like eighteen weeks in a row, but I’m pretty sure she’s coming this time.
~David and Pea dancing around to Swedish pop music.
~my cousin K’s first baby girl, born last weekend. Babies everywhere, I’m telling you.
~trying to focus on making peace with myself rather than being irritated with (almost) everyone else in the world. I really and truly don’t hate everyone, but I’ve found myself saying "I hate everyone!" way too often lately.
~the related realization that I don’t need everyone to like me.
~more zoo days, more park days, and a whole spring full of them head of us.
I read on the News2 weather blog this morning that Meteorological spring begins today (whatever that means) – so you’re not the only one!! I feel the same way, too actually. Even though March is technically more winter than spring since the first day of spring is still 20 days away, March has always seemed more like a spring month instead of a winter one.
I squealed when I saw that picture. Cuteness must never be left unsquealed over!!
I’m really hoping we have good weather next week so we can picnic at the park. Yay, spring!
