*o, pish posh!*

olde tymey blogging since twenty aught six

*things i wish you could have seen yesterday*

1. Pea at the breakfast table, singing in between nibbles of toast. I recognize one song, and then another, but I’m so sleepy that it takes a while to realize that she is combining the two. "Old McDoggal had a farm, I-E-I-E-O! And on that farm he had a dog and Bingo was his name-o! B-I-N-G-O…" and so on.

2. A table for two at the mall food court. FedEx guy in one chair, UPS girl in the other. I start to dig for my camera but decide that it is a private moment. I walk away with hope for world peace, etc.

3. Pea finally sleeping in the back seat, me seizing the opportunity to turn off the White Stripes CD. I push the preset button that takes me to WRVU, but something seems wrong — the CD is still playing. It’s not until I eject the disc that I realize that some college DJ is playing the exact same song I was trying to escape from. It blows my mind a little bit, just like when I’m wrapping a present and the pattern on the paper lines up just so. Except the wrapping paper thing leaves me feeling like I’ve won the lottery, and the radio thing merely disorients me.

This is maybe the best thing I ever read on the internet.

Shawnee, that’s exactly what I thought. I wonder what she’ll think of next.

Amy, I’m glad I could make you laugh.

This really made me smile on a Frazzled Friday when I really needed it!

I just found your blog via the lovely Brittney Gilbert’s and have been enjoying your posts; however, I cannot keep reading without first mentioning how wonderful I think this post is. The FedEx / UPS comment is perfect and will likely stick with me for a while.

Thanks, Bridget & Evan. If a DHL guy and a mailman had been there as well I would have cried.
