I didn’t realize Thursday had happened until it was Friday. I’ve been busy busy busy since then. But…
Today I am thankful for:
~being busy busy busy.
~seeing other fat girls at the gym. I wish we had a secret fat girl handshake or something.
~being amused instead of offended when the YMCA guy explained that strong triceps are good for holding babies and carrying groceries. Oh yes, he did!
~hot tea and other coffee substitutes.
~David’s year end work junk not being too overwhelming.
~a pleasant and low-key New Year’s Eve.
~Pea wanting to play more and watch TV less.
~Pea loving going to the “exercise place” to play with “the kids and the ladies.” I was afraid she might not like it, but yesterday she was disappointed that I went without her.
~ the word “caucus” as a verb.
~quiet.
~predictability.
~unpredictability.
~creativity.

The tricep anecdote reminds of the time I was seeing a podiatrist for some foot problems. He told me that while I was standing around in my house washing dishes and ironing and I should switch the feet I was standing on to give each a rest at intervals. Yeah…ironing. Like I spend so much time ironing!! I chose to be amused instead of insulted as well since it was obvious he was quite clueless!
I think I had the best biceps and triceps of my life the years I was hauling around a baby in an infant carrier. So, maybe he’s onto something. :)
“The kids and the ladies” would be a great band name.
